Things That Make Me Happy – The Sartorialist

A blog that I subscribe to is The Sartorialist. The vintage photo submissions are what turned me on to his blog originally.  His street fashion shots are what hooked me.  My all time favorite post, thus far, is this dress.  Vintage 50’s *sigh*. Isn’t the entire ensemble amazing?!

Vintage Chevy Collection

As I’ve stated before, I love so many things Vintage and the hubs knew I would love looking through the collection of Chevy’s that Dennis Albaugh has amassed.  It’s impressive!  As I perused various shots of his collection I was drooling.  This was my favorite car.  It’s streamline, white walled tires and such a sweet metallic blue.  *sigh*

The collection of vintage signs and posters alone has me daydreaming of a visit to Iowa.

The Chevelle is nice but the vintage battery charger and gas tank are awesome!  I’m not a car aficionado by any means, but I appreciate old school design when I see it.

1950’s Party Fashion

I love old movies and the fashion from the first half of the 1900’s.  Our society has become so casual.  I love vintage style and wish we had opportunities to get dressed up for a night out.  Men look so sharp in suits and ties and women dressed up in a frock that flatters her figure just makes for a pleasant time.  Don’t you agree?

Millie Mott’s blog is truly visual serendipity!  I would love to go out dolled up like some of these.

One of my favorite movies is “White Christmas.”  I love the style and costumes.  My favorite is the green velvet dress (below in the middle) that Betty Haynes (Rosemary Clooney) wears at the party where Judy and Phil announce their phony engagement.

I love Phil and Judy (Danny Kaye and Vera Ellen) together.  This is just a classic representation of how people dressed when they were out in public.  So classy!
